Pignut
Picture of Pignut

Pignut - Conopodium majus -
Flowering - May - June.
Height - 25 - 50cm
This plant looks to the un-iniated as a smaller version of Cow Parsley, but it is in fact related to the Carrot. The root is edible, and is sought out by pigs, which can smell the root, hence the name.

It is a plant of light dry soils, in meadows and woods.

Odd solitary plants are found mostly in Old Churchfurlong
