Bugle - Ajuga reptans
Flowering - April - July.
Height - 10- 30cm
Bugle is a member of the mint family and likes to grow in damp soils. Reptans means creeping and is often used in plant names.

Sometimes it is possible to find plants with white or pink flowers but they are rare. Varieties with coloured or variegated leaves have been cultivated and are grown in gardens.

Bugle has been widely used as a medicinal herb in the past and is still used in herbal medicine today. One of it's uses being to heal wounds. It has also been suggested that it is good for a bad hangover.

Individual plants are to be seen in Jackdaw and Old Churchfurlong
