Common Buzzard - Buteo buteo.
Resident .
Wingspan -
This is the usual view of a Common Buzzard in Stewkley as it soars overhead on thermals, scanning the ground with its keen eyesight for prey. Note the white underside of the wing and compare its shorter rounded tail compared to the longer forked tail of the Red Kite, which is a similar sized bird.

It is often to be seen being mobbed by Rooks and Crows, who dont like it on their patch, but it is bigger than either.

It is more common in Wales and the West Country, but is being seen more often, listen out for the "kiew" sound that it makes while flying.

It feeds on small mammals, including rabbits.
