| STEWKLEY MUSIC FESTIVAL | | |
The school grounds will be rocking to the sound of music from 4pm until 10pm. A variety of tastes catered for with three local groups taking part. A band that needs no introduction to Stewkley residents, Leap of Faith, opens the show. The six-strong rock and pop band Sir Jester offers original music and covers from the 50s to present day. The mood changes in the evening as The Last Resort takes the stage with their red-hot horn section blasting out classic blues, rock and soul numbers |

| A Village Family Picnic from 1pm. The picnic is part of a national event, The Big Lunch, which aims to get as many folk as possible from across the UK to have lunch with their neighbours |

| Come and join the procession, starting at 1.30pm, from Chapel Square to the Recreation Ground. Walk along with our steam engines, vintage cars, tractors and support the School Village Queen and her four attendants. The St. Michael´s Drummers will entertain and virtually every village organisation is participating. Everyone is welcome -- walkers and watchers. Jubilee Costume or Fancy Dress appreciated but not necessary. Join the procession and get in the mood for the fun and games at the Rec |

| A whole series of organised activities to keep everyone amused . . . and on their toes. |
| Plus: races for children & adults, barbecue, inflatables, side shows, tug of war, toddlers´ crafts and play equipment, art display, photographic exhibition of Stewkley´s past, tennis courts open, cream teas, and short mat bowls. The WI to provide Cream Teas with a three-piece jazz band in the Marquee. Pavilion bar open all afternoon. Ends 5.30pm. Entry FREE |

| The Concert will begins at 7.30pm and will be followed by the lighting of the National Beacon, which should end around 10.45pm. |

| NATIONAL THANKSGIVING SERVICE |
| Service from St Paul´s Cathedral on the Big Screen. Free entry - just turn up. Doors open 9.30am. Service starts 10am
Followed by tea and coffee organised by the ladies of the Methodist Church, and the draw for the winner of the WI Jubilee cake
At lunchtime, the bar will open and everyone is welcome to stick around to watch the afternoon´s royal events, including the London procession |

| At the Swan, a three-day beer festival with guest |
 | beers gets underway on the Saturday. A pig roast and barbecue is planned for late afternoon Monday, and there will be music from the harmony band Maxwell, Hammer and Smith and two other bands. The Swan team will also be manning the bar at the Village Hall |

 | The Carpenters Arms has a five-day beer festival featuring 14 real ales and ciders, plus live music and a DJ on Saturday and Monday evenings. A barbecue in the garden is planned for the Sunday |

| WATCH OUT FOR THE CAMERAS |
| Stewkley Film Archive will be fielding two video cameras during the celebrations, with the aim of producing a half-hour film of the village celebrations for showing at the Village Hall in the autumn, and for keeping in the Archive for future generations.
